Is It Safe To Have Dental Care?

June 19, 2020

At the dental office of Dr. Fabiola Camacho and Dr. Robert Burks., the health and safety of both our patients and staff is our priority. Now that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) shelter in place orders have been lifted, we know that our patients are looking forward to catching up on missed appointments and scheduling needed dental care. If you’re wondering if it’s safe to visit the dentist, the answer is “Yes!” Our office routinely uses hospital grade sterilization techniques and universal precautions. All of the safety measures used to fight diseases like HIV and Hepatitis also kill the COVID-19 virus. We follow all guidelines set forth by the ADA (American Dental Association), OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). Read below for an outline of our office protocol to keep you and your family safe!

COVID-19 Safety Measures In Our Office

In addition to rigorous sterilization procedures, you may also notice other safety measures taken by our office, such as:

  • Routinely disinfecting all surfaces such as door handles, counter tops, etc.
  • Protective plexiglass barriers in the reception area
  • Removal of coffee service, magazines, and newspapers to help prevent cross-contamination.
  • Limiting the number of patients in the office by asking patients to wait in the car for their appointment.
  • Screening all patients prior to treatment by taking their temperature and asking COVID-19 screening questions.
